FACILITY RULES:

Proper attire:
Boys: t-shirt (tucked in) and shorts.
Girls: leotard or shirt tucked into shorts, hair should be pulled back in a ponytail, if possible.

Please, no baggy shirts, jewelry, buttoned shorts, or socks.

NO FOOD or gum chewing is allowed in the gym. Only water and sports drinks are permitted. Cold water and sports drinks can be purchased from the gym for your convenience. To ensure that the gym is safe and clean, we request that all food be consumed at the tables in the common area outside of the gym.

Students are NOT allowed on the floor or on any equipment in the main gym or pre-school area until their designated coach begins instruction at the scheduled class time.

Parents are responsible for their children before and after class. If you will be late to pick up your child for an unexpected reason, please call the gym at 839-4494 to let the HITS staff know you are running late. Coaches will not be able to supervise your child after class.

As our coaches are highly qualified, with many years of coaching experience, we ask that parents please refrain from talking to their children while in class. Parental interference disrupts the coach’s instruction of the entire class.

The bathroom facilities are located on the opposite side of the Ranch 99 food court. Please ensure that your child has had the opportunity to use the bathroom prior to class. Coaches cannot stop their instruction nor escort students to the restroom at any time. Any student who needs to use the restroom will be referred to their parents, who will be responsible for escorting their child to the restroom. Gymnasts should be properly dressed when going to the restroom facilities. For example, girls should wear shorts over their leotards, and all gymnasts should wear shoes.

REGISTRATION FORM:

Paperwork, complete with signed "Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement," MUST be filled-out on site by each participant's own parent or legal guardian.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE:

There is a $50 annual membership fee for each year your child is enrolled at HITS. We offer a family rate of $100 per year for our recreational students. Billing statements for Membership renewals will be mailed in the month prior to the anniversary date.

TUITION:

Tuition is based on a four-week period and is due by the 1st of each month. After the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed to outstanding tuition.

Tuition may be paid by cash, check, or credit card (Visa or Mastercard). Credit cards may be charged over the phone, 808-839-4494. HITS does offer an AUTOPAY option for monthly tuition, ask at the Front Desk for details and to sign-up.

Payment may also be mailed to HITS at: 1151 Mapunapuna Street D3, Honolulu, HI 96819. Mailed checks must be postmarked on or before the 1st of the month.

Please keep in mind, failure to pay tuition or fees may result in the student's removal from classes.

SESSION BREAKS:

Tuition is paid monthly, but make-ups run off three-month quarter sessions as identified on the yearly recreation class calendar. Additionally, every three months the gym will close for one week. This “Session Break” addresses the additional 4 weeks of a 52-week calendar year.  Tuition is not charged for these breaks.

MAKE-UP POLICY:

HITS offers 1 make-up per quarter session to be made up on the designated Make-up Day during the Session Break.  The Make-up Day is offered to eligible students for the current session and is limited to 1 make-up for class cancellation or absence, regardless of the number of days or types of classes for which the student is enrolled. Students wishing to make-up must sign-up with the Front Desk prior to the end of the session in order to attend.  Failure to attend the Make-up day results in the loss of make-up for the session.

DROP POLICY:

To ensure you are not charged tuition for the month, you must provide a formalized written notice to discontinue classes.   A parent or guardian wishing to withdraw a student must complete either an official HITS Drop Form, available at the Front Desk, or mail/email a formal letter requesting withdrawal.  All official notices of withdrawal must be received by the 1st of the month. Notice provided after the 1st of the month will require a full month of paid tuition as a spot for the child has been held.

TRANSFER POLICY:

Do you want to switch to another class time or day? Please check with the office to see if there is a comparable class that is open. Limited transfers are allowed during each quarter session.

MEDICAL POLICY:

Hawaiian Island Twisters, its instructors and staff, will not and cannot be responsible for administering or storing medication of any type, prescribed or not. If medication is necessary, it should be given by the parent. Additionally HITS will not be responsible for monitoring the student for adverse reactions.
